Default RE: alternator question

I think the alternator is going on my car because i have read in the ford manual that the the battery indicator is a voltage inticator, it says that if i had any electrical equipment turned on, the needle would go to the middle, so when i was going to forman mills, i didnt have anything turned on, accept the radio and the car was losing power.

when i first got the car, it wasnt losing any power and the needle was on the plus position.

so is it the alternator or do i need spark plugs and wires?

Start the car. Leave it running and remove the + battery cable from the battery. If your car stays running then your alternator is ok and doing its job. If it dies buy a new alternator.
