Default Coil on Plug

When did ford change over to this? Was it the beginning of the PI engines or a few years into production. Im looking at one and he says its got a new PI with15k on it. But I got some pictures and it has plugs and wires. Is it possible to change it back over?

on my NPI engine with plugs and wires, there are the threaded holes for the coil on plug setup... so if you change the computer you can go back and forth

as far as i know PI engines only came with COP, are you sure the guy didn't just swap to PI heads?

i assume he means its a pi motor, so its got the holes for the coil overs, im sure he did what i had done on my engine swap. he just used the coilpacks because they were just a matter of swapping them onto the new motor. as to switching to coilovers, i wish i knew exactly what it takes. i want them bad!

would need the wiring harness and the computer to doit, so im thinking the conversion would cost 600$+. not really worth it for me right now. maybe later on.
