Ok, I bought the msd blaster coils for my car. Are they going to give me any extra HP? Everything I have for my car is lised at the cardomain link on my sig.

RE: coils=HP?
If anything, you'll see the MOST benefit when you're spraying, since power adders tend to require a more robust spark than the stock system can put out reliably...
If you've got burnt coils now, you'll see an increase.

maybe 1hp???
What you will probably notice is smoother low end running IE starting, idling etc
we put msd on our 69 impala and top end it's the same, but starting, idling, cruising are all smoother/better
can't compare a carburetor to a fuel injected vehicle, but still it should help a bit.
You'll just have really good spark

I think part of that too is the engine's compression, and ability to fire a good stroke on the low end, w/ out being too rich...
I'd have to do some more homework, but I think that car's ignitions discharge the same arc whether Low-Throttle, or WOT... With that being said, I also believe that because in the lower RPM band, cars tend to run extremely rich, it causes the low end feeling, to be, well, low end...
Time to hit the books..

RE: coils=HP?
That's what I thought..
I'm also going to do some reading on the MSD's and the HID2 Systems, see what kind of "Rate of Fire," those things have, and what kind of arc it puts out comparitive to stock..
Thanks for the words..

RE: coils=HP?
the MSD module we installed on our impala is designed so that, at 3000 rpm and under there are around 3 or so sparks each time instead of 1 spark... above 3000 rpm it works normal with one spark
in regards to the coils for the stang, I don't know if they do it the same

RE: coils=HP?
I'm willing to bet it's probably just a Single, regular intensity discharge, if there's such a thing, for the Mustangs...
I haven't done much looking, but I'm actually prepping myself for a big build this winter, and I haven't done much research yet, but I should probably get on it. It's almost July..
