As a private owner, you can probably manage to squeez from 6500 to 7000 out of that thing. Dealerships wont give you a dime over the black book value for all those extras. Unless you are trading it in, in which that case they give you what you want for your car, and over price theirs.

To be specific, your car is only ever worth at any given time what a buyer is willing to pay for it. The key is to match the car to the buyer. Find someone who is a Mustang fan and loves your body style (particularly with mods included), you may be able to get far above book value. Dealers, forget it. Book value only unless you have excessively "low" miles. Car must always be in a "clean" condition inside and out, of course.

Personelly I dont like to buy cars with mods, cause then you know it prolly has been beaten. Put on all the stock engine parts. Keep the visuals though. Sell your used mods on ebay!

this is very true, take off everything u can and you will sell it faster, no one will buy a car that had nitrous because most dont understand it and it had a bad rap in the eighties....I wouldnt even buy a supercharged car that did not come that way from the factoy....

mods depreciate the value of your car even more, unless you sell private party.

Yea mods depreciate the value without a doubt, and even if you sell it privately, I would try to sell it to a kid who wants a real nice built up car. Because even privately, most people do not want a car that has been modded. Like the others said, the visuals can sometimes entice a buyer, so keep those. But even privately, I wouldn't want anything done to the engine, or like nitrous that puts stress on the engine done to the car before I bought it.
