Clutch
In my 98 gt, it seems as ifburning out is almost impossible on a basically stock stick shift even when reving all the way. is the clutch on these cars set up to allow some slippage when you "dump" them?

would a better clutch be the solution to spinning the tires?

It seems like the older cars like the 5.0 could do brunouts in their stock trim.

no s**t....my 98 GT takes the first 60' of the track sideways. but my new BFG's make it easier to drive in the rain...my old stock alloys had toyo Z rated... but still spun with just a touch of gas.

I do my burnouts in second. 5k rpm and then side-step and ease on the brake and let off on the gas some. You must have slicks....did you check back there to see if theyre slicks? hehe

If yer clutch is starting to slip.....just start out in third and with no gas applied, slowly release the clutch. If yer stick starts to jerk and shimmy, then you more then likely have a bad clutch.
