RE: Tach installation
well im guessing you have a 4.6 stang lol neways you can just take out your instrement panel and run them in with the harnesses on the back of your panel the only thing you need is a volt meter and just find a acc.power you light switch and just find your tach lead the tach lead on the back of the panel you can find buy cranking you car and rev it a little while testing each wire where the harness is plug in to where the fact. tach is when you find it the volt meter will go up when you rev it and come back down as the revs settle the rest is easy to find just find the acc. power when you can turn the key on in the car and the volt meter comes alive and don't cut the wires just pull the wire out of the harness that you need to tye into to it and push it back in the harness with the wire attached hope this helps you a little bit

RE: Tach installation
To get the best reading splicing into the dash is not the best way. The problem with the 4.6 is that they are distributarless (sp) systems and need a convertor for the gauge to work.
This is what you need to install your tach.
