IAC gasket = Idling trouble? HELP!
I just did the IAC mod where I fabricated my own gasket with a hole slightly bigger than 3/16" for the IAC opening. The RPM's sure come down fast, and it seems like it's doing it's job, but my idle is at 1100-1200 rpm.
Thats wayyy too high, seeing as though it used to be 700-900 rpm. Is it because of the IAC hole being too small? I had the hole at exactly 3/16", and it worked twice with a normal idle, then when the car cooled off, it wouldn't idle, and died. So I made hole bigger slightly by swerving the drill bit, and it kept the car running, but my idle is too high.
Is there any way to keep the IAC mod and have a normal idle? I really like the way the IAC sounds like a hot rod, and eliminates the rpm "hang", but a 1200 rpm idle will kill my gas mileage.
Help!!!!
