Default Painted Wheels

I posted a couple of days ago about black gt wheels. I know that powder coating them would look great and ultimately hold up the longest, but it is going to run me about $75 a wheel. My brother and I are wanting to learn how to paint as we have a sprayer and air compressor, I figure that wheels might be somewhat of a good starting point. How well would several coats of paint and clear coat hold up on a set of wheels? Worst case scenario, the wheels would have to be stripped before powdercoating anyways, but is paint a viable option?

idk since the wheels get hot, and when you paint its just a base coat or whatever color, then however many coats of clear you want to put

I suppose I will clean and degrease the wheels and then scuff them up a bit with a scotch brite pad. Several coats of color (wet sand as needed) and then a couple coats of clear.

I know this will be a fairly inexpensive route, but I am curious as to how long they might hold up (bearing in mind no curb rash).

well

if it craps out on you, you can always just paint it again.

If you got it working it would look better than alot of AM rims so try it and let us know
