engine noise/check engine light.

my engine starts making pinging/crackling noises when i get into high rpms when i go over 50mph and my check engine light is on. i posted a thread about this problem about last week but cant find it

. but i was told to put 93 octane for a few tanks then go back to 89 and the sound should go away?? i filled up with 93 about twice and it still makes the sound and my check engine light is still on. any ideas what might be wrong? thanks.

this is scaring the shiiit outta me. haha

I love when people give advice and don't have a clue what they're talking about. If your check engine light is on, go to autozone and get a free scan to tell you what the code is. Bring that and post it here, it will be a helluva lot easier to figure out what's wrong once that code is pulled.
