02 and 04 are the same..I believe 04 had a 100yr anniversary option but performance are the same but the 04s had bullets or chrome 5 stars instead of silver 5 stars like previous years
Hey fruhdaddy,
I think you will have to wait another 56 years to see a 100yr anniversary option ... the 04's came with the 40th anniversary option. All 04's have "40th anniversary" on their sides instead of "GT"

actually there is a centennial edition mustang, i forget what year it was though

The intakes on 1999- 2000 were recalled because they tended to melt to the heads and had seal issues. That’s why you see everything 2001 and up.

To the whole thread...... Remember that 1999 - 2000 came with a longer water pump than what’s on the 2000 1/5 and up.

You are right - I forgot about that. It was back in 2003 - where some Ford Models became available as Centennials ... celebrating the company's 100yr anniversary (1903-2003)

But I am not sure if there were any GT's as Centennials.
-Ford Mustang Centennial coupe and convertible: 17-inch premium alloy wheels; anti-lock brakes and traction control; dual exhaust; power driver’s seat with power lumbar support; leather-wrapped steering wheel; and Mach 460 AM/FM Stereo with six-disc CD changer.

So there are 2003's V6 out there which came stock with 17-inch wheels and dual exhaust....

The only other difference I know of is that at one point, the Intake Air Temp sensor was integrated into the MAF. I know '03 and '04 are that way, but not sure when Ford made the change.

You're right about the recall but no melting though, it was all because of the manifold cracking on the first runner.
