Default hydraulic or cable.

This is probably a dumb question but does a 99 gt have a hydraulic clutch system and what is the difference between that and a cable

You have a clutch cable, as do all mustangs (at least 79-2003 anyways). Hydrolic clutch systems use a master and slave cylinder, similar to a brake master cylinder and a brake caliper (kinda)for example.

Ok so there is this chirping noise when I let the car idle but if I press the clutch in about a 1/4 inch it stiops. when I rev it up it starts again. would this have anything with the clutch cable or is it the flywheel?

Hey bud, keep an eye on that "chirp." If it gets worse or doesn't go away, I can tell you from personal experience your throwout bearing doesn't have a whole lot of life left in it. Might want to see about getting that taken care of before you end up without access to your clutch in the middle of traffic somewhere (NOT GOOD). It's not hard to do yourself, if you have about a day or 2 to mess with it. Replacing the bearing itself is a piece of cake. All that is involved is removing the fork and swapping the bearing...it's the process of getting TO IT that is a major pain, i.e. dropping the exhaust, removing the transmission...if ya don't have the time or the patience, have a shop do it. Otherwise, get a Haynes manual and have a hayday! It's a super easy process...just time consuming.<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">
