Fuel accomodation will NOT a problem if you,re running a carb. You may even be able to use your existing fuel pump with the addition of a relay and a fuel pressure regulator or perhaps a universal fuel pump. If thats not practical, run a mechanical pump and do away with all the relay stuff but you'll have to drop the tank and set up your fuel delivery for a mechanical pump.IMO I think your existing pump with a regulator and relay(to control when its on and off) will do the trick. Cut your metal fuel line at some point under the hood where you can run fuel hose to the carb. I may have left out a few details but I think you'll get the picture of what needs to be done.Fuel pressure on a carb is lower than fuel injection .

don't know how long that stock pump is gonna lastregulated down to 6 - 8 psi, not to mention stock pumps are high pressure, low volume. Best thing to do is swap in a tank from a carb'd mustang or modify your tank for an external holley pump or something. </P>

You should be o.k. up to 300hp using stock pump with a returm fuel regulator. Above that you'll have to trash the factory pump and do as mdvaldosta mentioned adding a pick- up line in your tank(thats the modification he's talking about) and do a mallory or holley electrical with a regulator. Something to that effect. do Its really going to depend a lot on how much power you're going to produce and if your current fuel system is return or returnless. The main thing to remember is that if you dont use your stock pump, put a pick up line in the tank. They make a pick-up line kit for $70-$85.
