Default will this work on a sixer

I tried posting this in the exhaust forum first but noone responded.

I bought the v6-v8 converter kit from one of the sponsors so I could use any GT catback exhaust with my v6 to get a trual dual exhaust setup. On the phillystang forums, I found someone close to me selling a 98' cobra mac catback exhaust, my question is, will this work for my car?

If it does, will it sound like **** since its built for an engine much more powerful than my own? It is a 2.5', if that helps and/or matters any. It is $125 obo with chrome tips included and it claims to have 25k miles on it. Should I buy it? I'm a broke college kid and probably shouldnt be spending this money as it is so I dont want to buy it and find out I wasted the money.

Thanks in advance for the replies and helping out my noob ***.

http://www.macperformance.com/store/...ategory_ID=459

says 98 cobra and 96-04 GT

i believe it will work. you may have to change the hanger locations but thats not a big deal.

its obviously not gonna sound like the cobra. the sound is also gonna depend on your midpipe also but you can go to youtube and check out exhaust clips

With 2.5" pipe you'll lose back pressure and power the gt's had 2.25" piping. I thing the GT's will sound better. Get a set of used ones from a junkyard. MPS sells em for a $100. + shipping. You could probably find some local if its what you really want.
