Default Powder coated vs chrome

If I am buying LT's will I be able to just take good care of chrome headers or will all the care in the world not prevent rust or discolor?

I ask b/c I also hear to go for the coated ones but they are more expensive and basically I am asking are they worth it for a guy on a budget to get over the chrome ones?

Default RE: Powder coated vs chrome

Chrome will still discolor and isn't as corrosion resistantIF there happens to be an imperfection in the plating process. But, chrome also tends to be more impact resistant than other coatings. The reason I think the coated ones are more expensive is because they retain heat better through the primaries which leads to better exhaust scavenging.

Reason people still use stainless steel tips over chrome is because theykeep theircolor longer.
