Bird Ticking Noise, Clutch?
Sup everyone, I just bought a 1999 Ford Mustang GT/4.6L Convertible. When i bought it (just like anyone else would do), I tested its power due to the fact it had some minor modifications like K&N Air Filter and itsounded like a beast, I dont know what else was put into it, but anyways... about a month ago I started hearing a bird like ticking noiseon the underbelly between the drive shaft and the engine, thus being as part of the transmission. The noise is loudest when I idle the car at 1,500 R.P.M's, but the reasonI believe that it may be the Clutch or Tranny is becausewhen i rest my foot on the clutch about1/2 inch, the noise goes away,if i let go the exhaust is loud enough so that you cant hear it anymore at 2,000 R.P.M's- Red-line ... withing the past week, the noise in the carcan be heard mostly all the time, even when i cruise at 50 M.P.H. in5th gear, i can slightly hear it still,I asked some guy and he said that it is the throw out bearing in the clutch, was he right? Give me your thoughts and inputs about this please, and if i change the clutch to a king cobra clutch kit, would noise goaway thank you...
