Default Cheap Lowering Idea?

I have a idea of lowering my car. Im gonna pull my OEM springs and cut them, no heat just cut and grind probably 1 3/4 - 2". If it doesnt work well i guess i can find a OEM set of springs for cheap around here! LOL It will probably wear out my shocks pretty quick but im gonna see what the results are! What you guys think?

the springs are ratedto handlethe proper weight and height from the factory. So yes you will probably wear outother components quicker and have poor ride quality.

I'd say if your gonna end up spending the same amount of money in they end to get back to stock, you should do it the right way the first time! Lowering springs, struts, cc plates, etc...

I started with just the aftermarket lowering springs and it worked ok. I am going to replace the shocks/struts soon though.

Just do it the right way and buy some aftermarket ones. This way you wont have to do it over again and you know it will be done rite.

the springs are not progressive. you will be FINE cutting the stock springs. i would only cut 1 coil tho, you will need c/c plates and new s/s if you cut 2inches off like u want. remember when u lower that much its not just the s/s you effect, its the tires too. but again you will be fine cutting the stock springs.

just go to autozone and get replacement springs fora 87-93 gt. use the 4 banger springs up front if you want better transfer.
