Weight reduction... Help please
#22
Take a BIG POOP!!!! As far as getting a light weight battery i would just move it to the trunk I think the placement of the wieght will give you more than taking off If you wanted a light wieght car a coupe is the way to go and their is something there besides your head if you happen to roll over.
I don't think it's worth it really. At least the Steeda battery relocation kit is like $220 or something like that. Plus all that wiring from the engine bay to the trunk is a few pounds. The Odyssey lightweight battery I mentioned cost only about $160 and is obviously a direct replacement. Theres an even lighter battery (4lbs) but it's much more expensive and only for extreme circumstances obviously. The Odyssey is not bad for a daily driver. They make a lot of batteries and if you don't even want anything as extreme as the PC680 then I know they make others that are a bit heavier but probably even more suiting for a daily driver.
The only good thing I can think of with the battery relocation is all that weight. Though i'm pretty sure the spare tire is enough but even without that I don't think it's that bad.
