Sorry it's a late response but I did end up finding my problem it end up being my engine harness had fallen and was in between the firewall and egr tube so it melt some of the wires "causing the maxi fuse to blow just pulled wire harness apart and rewired the bad section of wires...

Cannot thank you enough for this post. Mechanic tried to tell me it was the fuel pump before even looking at my car. I had the same issue as you just reinsulated the wiring and she runs like a champ again.

here i am back 2 years later having this issue again cut open my harness to check my wires they all seem fine however even with the fuel pump disconnected it seems to have a load on it blowing fuses as soon as i turn key...leaving work yesterday it just shut off. sure enough blew that 20 maxi...taking this gremlin to the shop tomorrow.
