96 GT P0320
My 96 GT has been running like crap lately. I pulled this code when the cel came on. P0320. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor since that is what I thought was wrong. It did not help. The car runs good cold but after it warms up its like every cylinder quits firing. The tach goes to almost 0 but no lights on the dash like the engine is off. It will then start to run fine for about a second or 2 and does the same thing again. It bucks the heck out of you as it does this over and over. Now it started stalling out while taking off from a stop. I need help. I don't have any idea what else to try. The plugs and wires are good. And the harness from the CPS seems to be fine. Anyone have any ideas for me to try? I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks

how many miles are on the car. could be bad IAC, dirty or broken maf sensor, coil packs, fuel filter although unlikely, altinator going bad, etc. its one of those problems thats going to take some time to figure out

you cant really check coil packs but it would through P0301-308 for a misfire and also a p0316. The IAC is the Idle Air Control valve. I cant remember what the P0320 stands for. I beleave It could be a fuel problem Is there away you can get a fuel pressure gauge I think when it gets warm the fuel pump might be cutting out but Im not 100% with out being able to look at the car

I can ask around about a fuel pressure guage or maybe rent one...? I just don't undrestand why it only does it after it warms up to normal temp. Does anyone know if you can get an alternator tested? I don't want to buy one if I don't need it. They are pretty expensive.

yes you can test coil packs. i'll advise you to get a haynes manual if you don't have one already. it tells you exactly how to do it. all you need is a volt meter to measure the primary and secondary connections of the coil pack.

OK. I'll go get a manual today. I have a voltmeter and if those are good I'll have the altenator tested. It's really not driveable like this so I have to do something. I guess if the coil packs and the altenator are good then I'll start looking at fuel problems.
