Man, I have a simular problem.
My car threw a code. said it was missing on cylinders 7 & 8. I checked the plugs and injectors...still nothing.
So I did a compression test. Cylinder 7 said 80. Cylinder 8 said 0!!!
So I pulled the valve cover off. one of the lash adjuster things(part that sits under the cam and opens the valves) was laying inside the head, not under the cam were it should of been. then a closer look at the valve and it seems to be stuck open.

So im thinking I have a bent valve in #8. I'm hopping the damage is not too exclusive. I pulled the motor last night, and will be digging into it tonight. i'll let yall know what I find.

That makes no sense at all. changing coil packs would not raise the compression back up since their are no plugs or coils attached to the engine during a compression check.

If you only get 120 in all cylinders then start saving for a rebuild because the engine is on its way out. 140-160 is good 180 is awsome. The main thing to look for is that all cylinders are within 10% of each other.

+1.. The numbers will be slightly different depending on how warm the motor is also.

Will the numbers be higher if the motor is warm or cold? I let a mechanic drive my car today he said it felt like something was holding the car back because it has alot of power from idle to about 2200 rpm then after that you could make a sandwich before it gets to higher rpm. He thinks it jumped a tooth on timing chain. Is that possible?

If you jumped 1 tooth on the timing chain you would have a big loss of power through the entire rpm range and alot of realy loud noises. Then your wallet would be screaming from buying a new engine.

Is compression higher when the engine is cold or warm?

Neither. Make sure you hold the TB blade open during cranking.

Worth $1500 no but you will get a good power jump over non-pi. I wouldn't pay more then $1000 for a stock 2v engine.

ok I just got done talking to him again. That is with tranny and everything.. He wants 900 just for complete motor or 750 without the bullitt intake. or 1500 with tranny? What would you do in my situation? I think my motor is wore out.
