Default Tuners

I am planning on doing a couple upgrades to my 2002 GT and was wondering if a flash tuner is a good idea or even necessary? Im changing my gears to the 373s. Do I need the tuner? What are the benefits to having one? are there any negatives to having one?

lol

Yes, a tuner will be necessary to recalibrate your speedometer after you get the gears installed. That way you know what your true speed is and also so that your odometer doesn't have a ton of miles on it that aren't actually on the car

The positive is that it'll let you get a little bit more out of each upgrade you put onto your car. You can also run a tune for 93 octane to get a few more horses. The negative is that it's expensive and if you don't know what you're doing, you can do some serious damage to your car.
