Default Question about a MAF upgrade.

I was wondering if anyone out there upgraded their MAF to a bigger one for their supercharged GT and noticed a difference in power. I am looking at the lightnings 90mm MAF as an upgrade but is it worth the money. Right now I have a bbk 75mm TB with the stock maf which is calibrated to 30lb fuel injectors. Is it worth the switch or I will not noticed the bigger diameter size or will the bigger size help the air flow to the 75mm TB?

well with a s/c gt it is required to upgrade the maf because it will peg. it may help a little bit not enough to notice best it will do is free up air restriction.

Now what I here is that it will not peg if it is calibrated to your fuel injectors which mine is. Is this true and how do you know if its peg?

well are you s/c? if you are not the 80mm maf is fine with your setup with your injectors but if you are s/c the 80mmmaf is only good to around 380-400whp in which you need to upgrade to the 90mm maf and calibrate to the injectors.

So I am supercharged with a Saleen series IV twin screw blower, anyway if I get a 90mm MAF calibrated to 30lb injectors I will increase my horsepower?

no. the only reason you would need a bigger maf is if you are pegging the one you have at 5 volts. Then you need a better one but it's just a supporting mod for more power.

I won't help at all. The stock MAF is good to around 360-370 rwhp. Mine pegged around there forcing the tuner to set my A/F mixture a little rich mid-range so that it wouldn't lean out at the top. I'm still running the stock MAF but I bought a Diablosport MAFia adapter and had the car re-tuned. With 30 lbs injectors I doubt that you will peg the stock MAF.

+1.

OP I have a slightly used set of 8 38 lb. blue injectors from Vortech with only 3,000 miles on them and I will also sell you my 90 M Lightning MAF they are on my car but I can pull them off my car, PM me if you are interested.

PS - 38 lb injectors are good for 450-460 rwhp.

$275 shipped for injectors and MAF.
