ticking noise at idle
#11
I know this may sound odd... I had the same ticking noise - thought it was the lifters, or the tranny looked all over the place, used a stethoscope etc....Left it, until one day i thought i would change out the spark plugs. The last plug, passenger side by the bulkhead was loose. Replaced it anyway, bingo - no ticking noise. Suggest you take a look at that. Reading elsewhere on this forum, watch the torque as you can strip the thread - good luck

came to find out that the tick noise at idle is the throwout bearing but the tick while driving is something else. cant really pinpoint where its coming from. if it still ticks after the new plugs are in, its gotta be in the exhaust

I have the same ticking. I got a new motor, and it still ticked near the transmission. Brand new spark plugs, so this problem is NOT the spark plugs. I got a BRAND NEW throwout bearing and 2,000 miles later I checked for the noise and it was still there. I don't think those things go bad THAT fast... I have a feeling it is the headers.

yea your probably right even...i got the new plugs in and it didnt fix it. so my guess is that it has to be in the exhaust. im gonna keep messin around with stuff, so i'll keep you guys posted if i figure out what the hell it is. and pinto, sweet gt's lol i love silver on new edges...the true blue one is sick too
