do you have tire for those gears? they will not help you much if you cant get your car to hook up? i would say just save for your forged short block you could be needing soon, stock block will not hold up to that kind of power for a long time.
ps keep beating up those hondas as well

The reason for higher gears is not just top end in fourth. People with supercharged cars go to a higher gear like 3.73s and 3.55s also because they have little or no traction with the lower gears. I've read posts from several people who have taken their 4.10s out because of handling problems in corners or going sidewise when passing cars. One guy running 470 rwhp and 4.10s was obviously afraid of his car in corners.

Others say 4.10s are OK with a centri. It probably depends on if your suspension is set up to handle it.

Don't centri's need time to wind up and get their power levels up? If so, wouldn't a taller gear lessen the effectiveness of his blower?

Just throwing it out there. My car has the equivalent of a 3.55 in the rear (viper T-56 with 4.10's is about the same as a 3650 with 3.55's) - but I also have a KB, which is quite a bit different.

I roll on MT drag radials all the time and change them out every 3 months. I have Comp engineering lower control arms and upr adjustable uppers. I have comp engineering coilovers in the rear with 150lbs springs. The rear end is built and torque boxes welded. I don't think traction will be much of an issue.

My stock block has been holding 450hp for 2 years now so I will upgrade it when I add nitrous.

With a stock height tire 4.10's top out before the end of the 1/4 so I'd go with 3.73's IF you have a Manual trans.

Go 4.10s if you have an auto.

Did you say what Transmission you had? Stock Motor, so im going to Guess Stock Tranny??

Just Curious, if u had a T56 like Vertigyn i would say Atleast 4.10's... TKO600 Like me. First gear is longer than the T45 or 3650.

And Most people roll race because when you come up on a nice car, How Often do you catch a Redlight?? Much Easier Cruising on a Highway and downshifting and Going... Now if it was a Planned race, or you have an empty road to go to a DIG is the only way....

I have a stock 3650. Like I said I'm not worried about running out of gear in the 1/4 since I never go and if I did I would just borrow my buddys taller tires. All races around here are planned and done on an empty street. Kinda like how fast and the furious where a **** load of people meet up then go race somewhere.
