Default Question on rim/tire size

I think I finally figured out why my rims and tires are rubbing when I turn. They are 9.5" rims in the front. Will 17x9 rims with 275/40/17 on them rub still? I am thinking of just getting new rims and tires rather than using spacers. Thanks in advance!

275 is a pretty big tire for the front. I think thats the max you can run up front. What kind of rims do you have. the back spacing in the aftermarket rims could be making a bigger difference than the tire size. Also is your car lowered? My cars is lowered a lot and i get minor rubbing running the stock tire size upfront.

I don't recommend you use spacers on that wheel, as you will likely just "re-locate" the rubbing to the other side of wheel. This can also pose a safety issue unless you replace your lug-bolts as well.

Ride is correct that a 275 is really about max up front on a New Edge and a 9" wheel is max as well. With some steering rack limiters, you can reduce the turning radius and may solve your rubbing. I have a set and are reduced 1 notch, but not really sure if I even need them. They were installed as a "just in case" kind of thing as I run 295's on 10" up front after MAJOR suspension work)
