LOL... I think someone wants an excuse to buy the aluminum driveshaft (more HP). Good luck with fixing it. I hope it gets fixed with a new "aluminum driveshaft". I love it when it becomes mandatory to replace something with a performance part.. Good luck bro

Try the driveshaft but it could be your belt tensioner turning on your accesories??? When it flips up(on) it makes a thunk noise like you describe.

Fstanggt96... what a beautiful Mach 1 you have! I am envious.

Alright, I think you are right about me just wanting that aluminum drive shaft... But I seriously wonder what the problem here is. It does not happen at all when I mess with the accessories. Sometimes it even happens if I TURN OFF THE CAR and sit there for a minute or two, it will just randomly do it maybe 1 time.

Bad shocks. The they are slowly decompressing and sometimes clunk when they reach the end of the path. Mine does this too, especiall pronounced if I am going about 5mph and stop quickly causing the front end to dive. Atleast, thats what I have narrowed it down to, if you find something else let me know, I havent replaced my shocks yet lol.

My v6 5 speed did it and so does my gt 5 speed. It clunks sometimes when im putting it into first or second even when my foots pressed all the way down on the clutch. I replaced my driveshaft with a FR aluminum driveshaft and its still there so dont think thats going to get rid of it. I say dont worry about it since its only a noise that happens on all our stangs.

The bushings in the A/C clutch have probably fallen out.
