Question about Intercooling and Methanol Inj. in my Supercharged 4.6
#21
A few of you guys are leaving something out of your replies. OP, what's your Compression at? If you're running anything more than stock compression (Like the person running the cobra shortblock with 2v heads, 10.6:1) you should consider Meth injection with the I/C. If you're running lower compression (<9.5:1) then you'll be ok with just the FMIC.
If you don't feel safe running Meth, tune it for water. You wont be able to run as much timing at with meth but you'll always have water and if the pump breaks your tune wont be so aggressive that you're going to detonate. (Well, hopefully you'll notice it's not working first.)
Which Paxton do you have? Novi2k w/ FMIC will put a 10:1 compression engine w/ stock heads and cams at 500rw with 15lbs of boost after the I/C.

to answer the last couple posts first off i havent touched the axles i have the stock 8.8 ford rear end but i was told i should be fine with that especially since im running an automatic. secondly im keeping the compression realtively the same.. i havent decided yet if i want to pull timing with the meth or just use it as a safety muesure because your right sometimes the pump may fail and then you have detonation..
as far as the stall on the converter goes it was set to 3000 with my old build and tune @360rwhp, with the gain in power with the new build my tuner tells me the stall rises with horsepower gains. if anyone can prove that right or wrong let me know cause i was planning on restalling it to 4000 if it was false

well the cobra eaton is terrible. boost is a measurement of restriction in your intake from the cylinders, 10psi on one car doesnt mean another car will make the same power at 10psi. his car is alot different than a stock cobra with 10psi on the heaton.
op, you mentioned everything but rear end. you changed your axles/lsd out yet?
