NO more oil pressure

Default NO more oil pressure

got the 2000 gt mustang about four weeks ago it has been running fine then all the sudden it started acting funny the idle started acting up alot and jumping and changing and now i went to leave my house today and i looked at the gauges and i had no oil pressure! the car has oil in it and it doesnt burn the oil any idea of what the probelm could be could it be the sending unit or somethin or am i in trouble?

1st, stock guage sucks. Hook up a mechanical one to it. I think they're like 20 bucks at autozone, on my 50 I had one and just mounted it under the hood, just to check it w stuff like this. Are you getting any noises at all? If u didn't have oil psi you would deffinatly know lol. I'd check it w a real guage 1st, and go from there

alright thanks ya that makes sense it isnt knocking or anyting the other day it made a funny knocking noise once or twice but it never did it again.. I figure if it had a knock or somethin it would be doing it constantly right?

the car will run without any oil pressure at all. it wouldnt be "acting funny". If it had no oil pressure you could drive it for a few minutes then it would spin a rod or main bearing and start slapping the rod against the block

could failing oil pressure sending unit.its common on the truck engines and they use the same sending unit.

+1 I don't even use the stock oil pressure gauge it always goes up and down randomly. It's definately the gauge (in my case) because it's been happening for a while and if it was actually an oil pressure problem I wouldn't have a running motor by now.
