Default 03 GT revs surging, is this why? (pics)

so my check engine light came on out of nowhere on a sat. night around 8, so i just took it up to autozone real quick to see why and its throwing 5 diff codes, all pertaining to it running lean and possible o2 sensor failure possible vacuum leak etc...

it drives fine and everything is working normal except when im stopped it will surge from about 0.5 to 1 rpms back and forth as if i were reving it, doesn't do it in neutral and doesn't do it in park, only in drive and reverse..

don't know much about cars or engine tech, and don't have much money, SO i just took a look to see if i could see any holes, cracks etc.. in any hoses and found this:

1) what hose is this?
2) is this my problem?
3) if i replace this hose should this solve the problem?

thanks for any help!!

I can't remember off the top of my head if that is the PCV or EVAP hose, in any either case what you have with it cracked is a rather severe direct vacuum leak--it needs to be fixed and there's a 99.44% chance the problems will go away.

You'll probably have to get the DTCs/SES lamp reset.

thanks so much for the response, i went ahead a few hours earlier and went to autozone again (one of my real good friends work there) and we tried to find that little elbow hose, but apparently they don't carry it?? so we just took another elbow pcv hose and cut it to specs and put it on...

autozone is literally within walking distance to my place so i didn't get an opportunity to drive much but so far the reving has stopped, of course it doesn't mean too much b/c it was sporadic to begin with so im in fear of it popping up again, and of course the CE light is still on, whats the cheapest way to get that reset?

oh and btw, its ok that its not the EXACT hose right? i mean i could be wrong but i figure if its the same size and shape, why not?

you should be perfectly fine with an elbow the same size or close to it as original one. take it back to autozone and have them clear the codes for you they do it for free.

Some of the Autozone stores around here will no longer clear the codes over liability concerns--in Miami/Dade county there's a county ordinance prohitbiting them from even reading the codes, though I don't think it's enforced...

Most Autozones will not clear codes anymore. I was told they could be fined if they do. Doesn't disconnecting the battery clear the codes?

Not on the EEC-V ("eek-5") PCM--some pending codes will be cleared but not anything that's emissions related and that has been promoted to light the SES lamp...

BTW--that is the PCV tube, the EVAP connection is on the back of the upper plenum...

Harbour Freight has a competent code reader for $60, that can clear the DTCs--it is often on sale for $40...
