Default need some quick brake help

So after taking my mach into the shop for the brake light constantly coming on at the smallest amount of pressure, they tell me my brakes are basically done and the front rotors need to be replaced....I asked them not 3 months ago to look at them since i saw groves in the front rotors but they cleaned them up and said nothing was wrong with them...grr

anyway now I need to get new pads all around and new rotors for the front. I know the rotors in front oem are brembo but I want to eventually get to around 450 whp and I figured now was as good a time as any to get better.

I really need help fast so I can tell them what brakes to order tomorrow or at worst Monday. what are the best rotors/brakes to get? should I replace all of the rotors and brakes or just the front rotors? Ive read a lot of people suggest hawk pads and slotted/ drilled rotors. I saw these but don't really know what I am looking for. I just know I want to be able to stop

http://www.topbrakes.com/carSeriesDe...otted%20Rotors

Thanks in advance for any help

haha you are trying to drop a pretty penny on your breaks hu? And ordering through a shop, you know you are going to get hammered on price right?

If you want to support 450 wrhp, you are looking more along the lines of replacing your calipers ALONG with rotors/pads, and not JUST rotors/pads.

You can buy yourself some nice brembo rotors and decent pads and the breaks will be fine, but the real performance upgrade with your breaks are the calipers themselves.

from my understanding the calipers are the same as the cobras and should not need to be replaced. as far as ordering through the shop im still debating, yeah I know they might cost me a bit more but not sure yet if its worth it for the 12000, 12 month warranty.

no worries,

I know those rotors are a bit pricey but was the only ones I saw that in plain English said they would fit the mach. I know very little about what to look for. I had not planned to do this kind of upgrade till November but since they need to do them now Im lost.

I am by no means attached to those rotrs, and welcome any advice to go with others. just want to be sure I can go fast but also stop fast lol

I looked up your car on that site and I can see what you mean. There are a lot of different rotors there.

By the looks of it, any of those "should" work. The only difference is price/company really. For example, here is a set from American Muscle:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/94-04-...ors-front.html

Any rotor made for a Mach/Cobra "should" be pretty good to boot as far as performance goes. Just get one that matches your budget really. No need to spend $350 on a set of rotors, but It wouldn't hurt anything.

where in nc are you?

I saw those but I thought from looking at other brake threads quickly that the drilled/slotted brake rotors were supposed to be better. and apparently cheaper haha.

Im currently up in Fayetteville, but go back to Greenville end of the week...if the car can stop haha

I didn't read any other posts.

Replace the rotors with the Brembo blanks from tire rack. No need for an expensive rotor. It won't do any more.

If you are just driving on the street, replace them pads with stock pads or maybe the Brembo replacements if you want.

More stopping power from a different pad tends to equal more dust which gets annoying on a street car.
