The fact is, especially if you're going for big power, you don't even want to run a cat. converter on a turbo system if you can avoid it. Getting it through CARB is next to impossible.

honestly the biggest reason cats are even close to a problem is flow, but if you get a big enough cat it wont matter. everyone thinks they are super bad to have and even worse on turbos, its only because turbos biggest enemy is exhaust restriction. Buy a nice big high flowing cat (make that 2) and it will do its job without taking away a noticable amount of power. part of the problem i bet people have is upgrading their whole car, and then forgetting that the 5 year old x pipe and cat system probebly wasnt designed to handle 500hp lol. my 2 cents. Id never take the cat off my mustang unless i didnt have the money to replace it. I hollowed out the one on my subaru because it was bad and getting a factory replacment on it was almost 400 bucks. which i dont have at the moment. but hey its a brand new motor, probebly is less harmful than most of the cars on the road lol.
