i was thinking about the same thing, i have 21lb injectors laying home (they're off an 03GT) i'm still running the 19's so far i got PI cams, PI intake, o/r X pipe, UDP's, CAI and tune. if that's too much for the 19 lbs, i'll put the 21's in this weekend
sorry for hijacking the thread

Injectors can be too big, but you can go plenty big even right now (as long as you get tuned for it) and you'll be fine. As an example, i'm running 42's, and when i'm running n/a the car runs just fine. So, as long as your tuned for it, i can personally tell you the 42's would work.

Also, there's no need to change your maf right now.

The stock 80mm MAF will peg at around 1400 kg/h, so 1250-1300 kg/h is a good working limit--so,

1250 kg/h = 2755 lb/h. at 12.5:1 AFR 2755 lbs of air would have 220 lbs of fuel mixed with it, using a BSFC of 0.5 lbs/h (typical for n/a) that's 440 flywheel HP, 375 or so at the wheels...

MATH !!!
cool thanks all....
Got a set of 30lb injectors comming... everything should be completed by next week. I still need to finish rebuilding the power steering pump and a few other things before i can fire it up. Its taken me 4 weeks so far. I just got in a flexible dipstick tube from summit today. BTW getting that tube in after installing the heads and manifold is absolutley impossible! I ended up nearly throwing a wrench through the windshield i was so frustrated!

Here's a "rule of thumb" table for injector sizing--the horsepower values are at the flywheel...

You cat get a bit more (11%) by running up to as much as 95% duty cycle, however that is really too high for proper operation--dangerously close to going static...

If you are still running the stock tune then maybe 225HP/290tq at the rear wheels. The compression increase from the head swap will add a bit, and the UDPs will help at WOT, but if you are still running the crap 87 octane OEM tune you are not really getting any benefit from the upgrades.

Have you done any exhaust work? If not get an after market 2-1/2" H or X pipe (catted or o/r it really doesn't matter) and a catback--then get a premium fuel tune (or better yet a tuning system) and you can get to 250/300+ easy...

Went and got the 30lb/hr red tops. I had it put together and them put my water in it and noticed it running out the bell housing under the motor. Turns out my cheap method for replacing the heater tube from the water pump was leaking. So had to take it apart and order a new line from Ford yesterday. I checked on pricing for a tune and got a quote for $399. That seems a little expensive to me, but they do have a dyno on site. Anyone in the Tampa area know where I can get it done for cheaper?
I'm sure i'll run into a couple other "small issues" after completion, but hopefully nothing major! Hoping to fire her up tomorrow!

Does that price include a handheld tuner or just a chip or nothing? I paid $610 for an n/a tune and an sct handheld tuner, when I first did the pi swap and tune.
