Default Auto Transmission help and a couple other questions.

I have a 2000 automatic gt with almost 40,000 miles on it, I want to get everything up to date so I know where I am at with it. I want to have the transmission flushed with a filter change and have a transmission cooler installed. I am going to get this one http://www.jegs.com/i/B%26amp%3BM/130/70264/10002/-1

that should be a good one right? I also am going to use motorcraft mercon V
That is the fluid I should use correct?

I am not sure if I should have a transmission shop do it or have ford do it, what do you guys think?

if I have the transmission shop do it should I supply the ftranny fluid so I know mercon V was used?

Where should I tell them to mount the cooler?

Next on the list is a radiator flush and a tune up

what all is involved in a tune with these engines? new plugs, wires ect?

Ok, well first of all if you take it to Ford for the flush it'll be near 180$ (thats what we charge) and they most likely wont install your cooler for you. A trans shop should know which fluid to put in and probably wont have any issues doing the cooler for you as well.

And a "tune up" for your car would be a new fuel filter and new plugs. There are no wires, just COPs.

V is what ford recommends. Doesnt really matter what brand of V you put in, however if you have access to motorcraft, get it
