random question: if your driving and you pull on the e-brake do your rears lock? mine dont and i can usually only get my e-brake to come up maybe 5-6 clicks.

they don't completely lock but its pretty apparent that the brakes are on

Mine's always been pretty weak.

Remove the cable from the caliper is easy. Use a flathead screwdriver to take it out of it's mount on the brake, and there's a spring washer holding it in the caliper. Use the same screwdriver to pop out that washer and slide the cable out.

Go look at the cobra brake swap how-to if you really get terribly stuck with it.
