Default best shift point?

my buddies got a bolt on 2v, and at the track he shifts at 6k, but says that sometimes it bogs into second. and he was thinking if he could rev it a little higher that it may not do it, but his rev limiter is also at 6k so he can't rev any higher. is this a good shift point or should he bring his limiter up some?

A bolt on 2v is not making power that high. He would be better off to shift at a lower rpm. I vary my shift points depending on what gear I'm in. 1st-2nd I try to shift ~6k, 2nd-3rd ~5800, and I try to shift into 4th ~5600. I've had my best ET and mph results shifting this way.

He needs gears if he is shifting at redline and bogging in the next gear... 4.10s or go home

he's got 3.73's in it. he says it's bogging but it doesn't look it. he pulled off a 12.9@107 with just radials and some little weight reduction so it's gotta be running pretty good.

I have 3.73's. The reason i don't go with the 4.10's is because i plan on going with some type of f/i later on down the road.
