Default Trans hesitation

Let me first start off by saying that i had a conversion done a few years ago on my 01 GT from auto to stick. When i get on the gas and switch to 3rd it seems to be hesitating a second or two before kicking into that gear. Does anyone know why this would be. I am not sure if i have a t45 or a tr3650 trans because of the swap. I was told it was a year 2000 trans. The Clutch is a centerforce dual friction about a year old. Thanks

More than likely it's a weakening synchronizer.

Coming from a 2000 it's a T-45, what you describe sound as though the clutch is slipping--how must free play is in the pedal?

It should be 1 to 1-1/4" when you press on it with your hand, before you feel the TOB start to load the clutch spring...

What is a weakening synchronizer and what does it take to fix it. Will it be an expensive repair.

This was going on even with my old clutch. I never had it looked at and am having my engine put in soon so want to make sure eveything is up to par. I also have a custom hydraulic clutch setup. I had this put in because of the hard pedal pressure. I first put in the dual friction clutch because i was told that would fix the issue but it was still to hard so had them do the hydraulic setup which did help quite a bit. I never understood why the pedal was so hard because my brother had the same clutch and it was much lighter.

Is the tr3650 that much better than the T45? How do they compare?
