Car is cutting back at 4,500 RPM
Hello I need peoples opinions on what could be the problem. I have a 2000 Mustang GT with a paxton novi 2000 supercharger, big fuel injectors (believe they are 42 lb.) a bigger fuel pump, and an intercooler. My car was tuned years ago and has been running fine for the last 7 or 8 years. Now all of a sudden when I get to 4,500 RPM in any gear (manual) it just cuts back almost like ur driving with the parking break on.. I checked my hoses didn't seem to find any that were off, a couple seemed kinda loose but were in place.. I checked my air filter it was horribly dirty, so I went and just put on a new K&N and it still done the same thing. Any ideas on where I should look next? Thanks

Thanks for the advice.. nope I haven't changed the fuel filter.. i was told it has a bigger fuel pump.. is it possible the pump is going bad and possibly isn't getting the fuel it demands at 4,500 RPM?? or can a fuel filter do this? Air Filter was so dirty I hope it didn't suck up and trash, but I highly doubt that..

I just spoke with a friend who also has a supercharged mustang. He said he's burnt spark plugs before.. and when the boost goes so high it just blows the spark out.. I noticed today the boost gauge wont go over 5 lbs., it normally goes around 10.. But Im thinkin 5 lbs. is normally where the boost is at during the low 4,000 rpm range.
