Wont stay running and wont start without starter fluid. Fuel Problem?
I have 2000 GT which has sat for close to a year. I had started it about 6 months ago and had some issue's but I had seem to get it to start and stay started after playing around with the Fuel Relay switches and doing some trick with tripping the back collision switch. I would initially have to use starter fluid in the TB to get it to start the first time. I believe the relay switches fixed the issue but I was able to start it back up after switching them around and keep it running. Well now after sitting 6 months again I am having issue's. If I turn the key the motor will just keep turning. If I spray starter fluid in the Throttle Body before I start it it will start right up. But after, sometimes 10 minutes, or 5 or 15 minutes it will die. If I give it gas slowly it will rev up but if I give it quick gas it will act like its flooding it and bog. Once it dies after however long it stays alive when I go to start it back up it just keeps turning and wont start back up unless I spray the start fluid in it. I have replaced the battery with a new one and it was sitting on almost empty so I put half a tank of new gas in it but still has problems. Has the relay switch gone or or is it something else like a sensor or something? Any ideas will be very helpful. Thanks.

I would recommend doing a search. Don't just start throwing parts at it. Try to find some trouble shooting steps. My local library has alldata that I'm able to use for free. It walks you through trouble shooting problem like this usually in less then an hour and very easily.

i had alot of problems with the p0190 code. first time i swapped out the frps and it fixed it. about 6 months later i had the identical problem but swapping the frps did not fix it. turns out the fuel pump was dead. the car was having similiar problems as yours. it would not start or if it did it would bog and die. not sure if this will be any help.

This may be too simple of a solution since you are throwing codes, but, did you clean out your IAC valve? Mine jams up every six months or so, especially after driving in hte rain and letting the car sit for a few days.
I pull it off, spray some electronics cleaner on it to clean out the carbon, let it try, reinstall and I am good to go. When the valve gets stuck, the car will turn over and then stall immediately. I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running.
BTW - I have a 99GT with 118K on the clock. Hope this helps.
