Default V6 to 4.6

Here's the deal, I have a wrecked 03 Kenne Bell GT. All the major components are in good condition. What am I looking at for difficulty on purchasing a V6 and swapping all the "goodies" into it?

As long as you have the 'donor V8 car', you should be ok. Especially if you do it yourself. I'd leave the motor on the K member and just swap the whole front suspension and everything at once. Then ECU, dash harness and cluster as well. Swap rear ends out (a stock 7.5 rear won't be any use to a KB'd 4.6L).

The dash harness will need to be swapped?

I agree LilRoush. Buying an engine and all the parts leaves room for forgetting something. But if you have a complete donor car that already has everything, then it should pretty simple. Just time consuming.

Yes and you're going to need the fuse box as well....I'm doing a similar swap myself.

I'm still debating what would be more profitable to either put my whole drivetrain in a 99 with 160 on the body and sell that or part this thing out....

- 1.7 liter Kenne Bell supercharger (intercooled and has the "big mouth" intake kit) (ported lower intake) (pullied for 8psi but creates 10psi)
- Kenne Bell boost a pump
- 75mm Throttle Body
- Upgraded MAF
- Port and Polished 2V heads.
- Kenne Bell blower cams with upgraded springs, valves ect
- 4.6 with forged internals (Balanced and Blueprinted)
- BBK shorty stainless steel headers
- BBK off road X pipe
- Flowmaster catback
- Moderate (safe) dyno tune
- 3650 Trans with excellent clutch/ Steeda short throw shifter
- 98 Cobra rear end, 3.73 gears, 33 spline axles, wheel spacers
- Authentic chrome 03 Cobra rims (will fit a 315 drag)
- Eibach lowering springs
- Smoked headlights (HID kit)
- A pillar tripple gauge pod with boost, A/F (narrowband), and fuel
- 03 Cobra front bumper cover

Any ideas?

Why dont you just find another GT for cheap and just swap the goodies over to that?
Wouldnt it be much easier then dealing with a Mustang that had a V6 ?

The only thing is I really don't want to throw a ton of money at this thing. I will not be keeping the car. Going to do something a little different for a while. Just looking for the best possible outcome in profits.

Why not just do something that's the most fun? It's not always about making money....especially when it comes to modding cars. Just do something that you will like, enjoy, and appreciate.
