op, i personally would pick up a cxracing front munt intercooler and piping. you will make more rwhp on less boost and the stock short block will run more efficiently. heat kills power and damages engines. good luck with which ever direction you go.

That is a lot of boost for non-IC. I bet the IAT gets high very quickly. A meth kit or IC would be a very good idea before you take it to the track and abuse it hard.

One local tuner, who is VERY VERY good, told me that around 400-410rwhp with a safe tune is OK, but beyond that comes with increasing risk. He strongly advised against more than 425rwhp with the stock bottom end.

However, I knew a guy running right around 490rwhp in his turbo 2V, with a very conservative tune, for a couple of years before he finally went BANG.
A ticking bomb once you get above ~425rwhp...

GOOD LUCK on this project!

U got a time b omb on ur hands. At 12 psi is just to much for ur weak azz rods and pistons. Sure u can get by for a while drive it hard and ur done.

I am speaking from experience. Start saving for ur new motor today.

Honestly it just depends, every car is different. theres guys that run 500rwhp on stock motors and get away with it for a year or more while others only run 360rwhp and it blows in a month. lower that boost to around 10psi and get a FMIC or meth and it should last a long time as long as your not trying to be richard petty or something lol

Dude u definitely should do IC to reduce u boost but still wont be enough from a conserative standpoint. I was at 11 psi and 400 rwhp when i cracked the top of my piston off. I had over 3000 miles on my setup when this happened.

Think about it there is a reason why Ford decided to forge the 2003 cobra.

how often are you seeing 12psi? I was running 14psi back when I was on a stock motor and had zero problems. Its all in your timing, octane, and tune. I wouldnt go more than that you have, but you are fine man. I have more friends than I can count on one hand running 450-480rwhp on stock blocks...they dont go 12+psi on every touch of the pedal

This question is too hard to answer since there are so many variables involved.
Nobody can tell you for certain if you will end up being OK because of the variables. This is obvious when you look at the stories of guys running 500rwhp and getting away with it for more than a year, and guys blowing up with 400rwhp. The TUNE is a huge factor!

You need to make a realistic assessment of how much risk you are willing to take and configure your set-up accordingly. A weekend toy can probably assume a much higher amount of risk than a single vehicle DD situation.
