Default Why is clutch soft and grinding in 4th after new clutch???

I had a friend of a friend installed a new clutch on my 2003 GT, throw out bearing, and flywheel after my clutch went out and the throw out bearing basically exploded and chewed up the flywheel. After the replacements I notice the clutch is a lot softer and it grinds when going into 4th. The guy "adjusted" the clutch but it still has the same issues. Any ideas on whether this can be fixed? The car never had a grinding issue before the clutch replacement and the pedal was a lot tighter. Do I need to try to adjust the clutch myself? THANKS!!!
