I have looked around here for awhile, and I can't find any post that exactly relate to my problem. A few months ago, I picked up a 98 gt, and I love it. I went to leave the parking lot at school, and it would not start. I would turn the key, and nothing would haven. Not even even the classic "Im tryin'!" sound. Someone suggested I get under it and hit the starter with a hammer, which helped. Anyway, I am usually able to start it and drive it somewhere, but when I shut it off and try to start it again, nothing happens. Is this my starter?

If hitting it with a hammer helped it once, I would suggest that the starter solenoid is likely the problem. If the solenoid doesn't kick out the starter drive assembly, it won't even make the "I'm trying sound."
