Default Nitrous thoughts on a stock engine...

Hi guys,

I've decided I'm too poor or too disinterested to invest $4-5k in a supercharger setup, so after I complete my suspension and exhaust mods and get the car handling and braking in a way that makes me comfortable, I will look to do a power adder.

Since I don't drive the car every day and since I will only rarely race it, I want to consider nitrous. I like the ZEX kit, because it looks simple and pretty mindless, but I was wondering what all of your thoughts are on spraying a stock 2v motor (4R70w). It has 93k on the car/motor/trans (all original) and has never been raced, not even one pass down the track. In fact, I've never had it over 100mph myself.

What more than the standard kit is considered a "must"? Window switch? bottle heater? Bottle opener? cockpit NO2 pressure gauge? Fuel pressure gauge?

Also, I don't really care about stealth, as I'm not planning to try to hustle people in any street races, so I actually like the flashy purple ZEX kit so I can have a little bit of visible bling when I pop the hood.

thanks :P

Hopefully yes. I'm sure some of the 2v guys run nitrous...

I run the ZEX kit in my Bullitt and it has 84000 miles on the motor.
I highly recommend the addition of a window switch to prevent low RPM activation and activation while on the rev limiter(quickly catastrophic).
A bottle heater is needed to get the pressure to 950psi on cool days.

A custom tune is also highly recommended and required if you have an aftermarket tune with increased timing advance.

Most important thing, a good tune from a reputable tuner, period.
