I think your 1996 glove box light bulb is a type 194.

As you can tell, you just pull it straight out and push it straight in.

Yes, I understand it's type 194 but is not that easy to pull it straight out since the light bulb is very small/tiny, hard to grab with your fingers that's why I will like to remove the fixture or socket so I can have easy access to the bulb. Does anybody knows how to remove the socket?...looks like it's clip-on but I don't want to brake it.

I would buy the bulb from Advance Auto if I couldn't safely remove it, and ask them how they do it or just let them do it. Knowing me though I really would jut gank it with some needle nose pliers and hope the socket don't break.

The type 194 stock bulb is almost imposible to remove by hand unless you have tiny baby fingers otherwise you will not be able to grab it because is very small, very slippery and to close to the side of the housing and if you use needle nose pliers most sure is that you will end up with a broken bulb and glass all over the place so, what I did is loosin the bracket that holds the light bulb housing in place and also locks the glove compartment door when closed, this bracket is held by a single 7/32 hex head screw, once screw is removed the light bulb housing drops and you can easily get to the bulb and pull it out of the socket. I replaced the stock bulb with LED light with a plastic connector base so next time will be very easy to grab and remove with my fingers. To bad can't post pictures
