1998 GT with trans issues help!!!!
Ok I got a 98 gt with 75,000 miles (according to odometer) a few months ago knowing it had a p0743 TCC solenoid code.
Well I replaced the TCC Solenoid and the Shift solenoid along with fluid and filter cause local trans shop said it had both codes and they wanted to rebuild the whole tranny at $1200. cause he didnt feel the solenoids would fix it. well they didn't. Now I'm wondering what you guys would check next? The car runs real well and shifts through all gears real well if you give it lots of gas. but when normal acceleration it jerks real bad going into second gear as if it were a manual and you didn't give enough gas when letting the clutch out. once out of second it seems better until highway speeds. at highway speeds it will start jerking like its locking and unlocking the TC. At first I thought this was OD kicking in and out, but it also does it when the OD is off. Any info much appreciated. cause I really dont have $1200 for a rebuild only to find out that aint the problem. and considering thats almost as much as I paid for the car....It dont help that I'm a cheap bastard and do everything myself. may be time to learn to rebuild a tranny
