You need to turn the adjusternin untill u can grab the cable and pull it and see the slack then start from there, the noise you described is the throwout bearing

Okay, and should I replace the clutch while I'm at it? It seems fine, no slipping. I never smell the clutch burning.

Thats up to you, if its old or high mileage it can't hurt but on the same token there might be 70k left in it

okay. well i adjusted my clutch today at the firewall, and all it did was make the sweet spot a little closer to the floor, so i put it back to where it was. should i change the fluid in my transmission? ive heard you aren't supposed to on manuals, but ive heard you should. whats your opinion? and i dont know if its ever been done, the previous owner installed this transmission.

here is a video of the noise my transmission is making. this noise is being made with the clutch is not pressed down, and in neutral. when I press down on the clutch, you will hear the noise go away. it's been doing this since I bought the car. you might have to turn your speakers up or put some headphones on to hear it really good.

and here is a video of the whine my transmission has. again, has been doing this since i bought car. i was thinking of changing the fluid to see what that would do. if nothing else drive it til it gives out, if it is something serious.
