Default 02 GT Stocker

Greetings everyone,
I'm new to Mustangs and the forums.
I recently purchased my first, an 02 GT Convertible Manual Trans, I've done a lot of reading and the information out is a bit overwhelming.

My goal is for a fun daily driver, nothing crazy but something to take to the local track a few times a year. The vehicle has 120,000 miles on it and after purchased I changed the engine oil, transmission fluid and air filter. Other small PM things planned such as fuel filter, diff fluid, PCV etc but I'm looking for a road map. I want to make sure the car is maintained properly first and running to spec, then start upgrading things like braking and suspension then getting into things like engine/power upgrades. My concern is how far to take something before moving on to something else before coming back... for example sub frame connectors then rotors or sub frame, strut tower shock tower braces, control arms then a complete braking package before moving on to something simple as a cat back.

Any advice is appreciated, just new here and itching to do my first mod.

Congrats on your mustang. Man kinda hard understanding your post (how far to take something else before moving on.....) I would look at sub frames for sure. Do you have stock gears? If so, with out a doubt the most beneficial mod you can buy for a New Edge Stang (Other than going FI) is gears...

Here's where I would place my priorities, if I were in your position:
1) Get everything up to spec/working properly
2) Lowering (springs or coilovers), should do shocks/struts/CC plates at the same time
3) Rear LCAs (Maxiumum Motorsports makes great ones)
5) Brake kit of some sort. You don't have a lot of options without going too crazy when it comes to the rear (cobra upgrade is pretty much the only thing you can do because of the c-clip axles) As far as fronts go, you can run 13" cobra brakes, or go to a 14" setup with s197 calipers like this, provided that you are running 18" wheels.

The 14" setup can be put together for cheaper than a 13" cobra kit, and completely blows away the cobra brakes.

Also, one of my favorite mods for sn95's is the MM clutch pedal height adjuster. Shortens the throw of the pedal by 1/2 to 1/3. Makes driving much more tight and fun, best $20 I ever spent. http://www.maximummotorsports.com/Cl...4-04-P502.aspx

My DRT rotors, hawk pads and braided brake lines on my 99 would out stop my factory cobra brakes

Being a vert I recommend sub frames high on the list and a short throw shifter as well, then I would do springs shocks/struts if there's 120k on stockers, and go on from there as far as you want to take it
