I'm having a problem with my check eng light and abs light coming on randomly. Here's the back story. I have a 2000 gt that was in a front in accident. Not a hard front end collision, but hard enough it popped both air-bags. I replaced the module, and both air-bags. Replaced all effected parts and had the car repainted. Ever since the accident the check eng and abs lights come on whenever. No rhyme or reason. If I turn the car off and restart after one of the lights come on, the light will not come on again until later. This was not happening before the accident. When it was at the repair shop one of the line items to be repaired was replacing the instrument pnl. I asked why that would have to be replaced and they said that's what they do. Didn't really get a straight answer. If anyone has had this problem or can lead me down a path of resolution it would be great. If you might need more info please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Scan it to see if there are any stored codes. Look for damaged connectors.

I'm not sure where the ABS unit is mounted on a 2000, on 1998 it's mounted low on the right front. Look to see where it is mounted and if that's the side that was hit, could be a correlation there.
