considering the amount of work needed to install them....i wouldnt do anything but use news ones. Plus its a good idea to upgrade the springs and retainers while you're there

True but the whole point of these is i can get them fairly cheap $300 and opposed to $550 from American muscle, and install is $650 so im trying to keep my cam budget under $1000.

pay the extra $250, this is a place you don't want to skimp.
One of the lobes looks a little rough, but I'm pretty picky too.

One of my (never do that again) moments... I bought used Cams a couple years ago. Paid out the azz to get them installed and had nothing but issues. Some things can be done cheaply but anything internal IMO cannot..

That's a good point that if they turn out to be crappy then doing the whole cam job again will be a pain in the ***...its not like installing a light bulb that took a sh*t right after flipping the switch. I would look around for new cams, or use the cash on something else.

This, and look at the second picture, on the left side the bearing journal looks damaged

Yeah...I'd pass too. Maybe it's just me, but I have never have been a fan of buying most used engine pieces and parts.

Buying somebody else's used cams is like wearing their dirty underwear.

They took it off for a reason.
