P1151 Hell

P1151 Hell
This is more of a rant than anything but feedback is always welcome.
I just moved to Georgia from South Carolina and holy hell anything over 3 model years old has to be inspected which means there can't be ANY CEL or error codes in order for the car to pass inspection. I just spent quite a bit of money to clear the codes and find what caused them which resulted in a new PCV valve and MAF. They did a smoke and leak down test (probably a couple other tests as well) which is how they determined those two things needed replacing (I've already replaced the rear O2s, they said the fronts were fine). Well I'm putting some miles on the car (illegally I might add since you can't get a temporary registration in GA while doing all these shenanigans) to get the computer reporting again and low and behold I get this same #$%&ing code again.
If I'd actually paid money to buy this car I'd really be pissed, thankfully it was given to me after my Mom got a new car. It's got a lot of miles on it and she figured I could get some enjoyment out of it (that's a laugh). It has 198,xxx miles on it and it runs well (mostly). It's a convertible and so we use it to putz around when it's nice out. I don't have the patience to fool with fixing most things myself so naturally I've paid to have it done but for a car I paid nothing to acquire I've spent on the order of $4k fixing crap and mostly I've done it b/c I like the car and didn't pay to acquire it.
I'm just wondering...WILL THIS P1151 CODE EVER GO AWAY because it seems to be the bane of my existence with this car? I'm so jaded with the CEL and am finding it harder and harder to believe the car can operate as designed from the factory without throwing a code.

Possible causes
- Faulty Upstream Oxygen Sensor Bank 2
- Fuel pressure high or low
- MAF sensor dirty/defective
- Vacuum leak on engine
- Leaking fuel injector or fuel pressure regulator
- Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
have to scan it and start looking down this bullet list, a simple obd bluetooth adapter and a phone would work, SCT Datalogging if you have an sct already is even better.
bank 2 upstream sensor is the driver side upstream sensor, or •O2S21 is shorthand for Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1, look for voltages moving between 0.200 Volts and 0.900 Volts.
looking at Fuel Pump Duty Cycle, Returnless fuel pump duty cycle, Pressure drop across injectors ...would tell you about your fuel system,
passanger side under the carpet, console side is the ground bolt for the pcm, its a green bolt, retighten it, use some dilectric grease, this ground if intermittant can cuase many issues.
few ideas anyway.

Well, well...it was the upstream O2 sensors. They tested fine last week in the shop but this time they failed. I had some NTKs in the trunk waiting to be installed and the shop didn't charge me any diag time since I requested they be installed last time. So I'm picking the car up and going to drive it around some more over the next couple days to see if the light comes back on.
In the last week, I've had replaced the MAF, PCV Valve and Front O2s. I replaced the rear O2s last year.

Yeah, I saw one of your other threads. This car has been treated pretty well...my Mom put 193k miles on it until 3 years ago, mostly highway. The top is original, interior is original although the drivers seat needs to be replaced, paint, tranny and motor are original. I spent about 15 hours doing cleaning and buffing to get the paint back in shape. To my knowledge she never did much more than a basic cleaning of the car so there was quite a bit of dirt built up in places and surface scratches from washing. The car has some sentimental value or I wouldn't be spending all these funds on it.
I would really like to drop a Coyote motor in it and swap it to a manual one day. I have a couple other hobbies that take a fair amount of fundage right now though and I'm not looking to drop $15k on this car, for a few years anyway. Suspension and wider wheels are next.
